The Fall usually brings for me a sense of urgency. The holidays really rev up the desire for me to control my surroundings. Trying to balance my life at this point is quite difficult because of my desire to not become overwhelmed.

In September I start thinking about Halloween costumes because I hate trying to find the last piece of the cherished costume on Oct. 30. In October I start thinking of Christmas because I know that Thanksgiving will be busy and I despise shopping after Thanksgiving. And so it goes every year and every year I try to slim it down. I keep trying to get back the Holiday spirit that I remember so fondly before becoming a mom, a wife, a career woman and a person with a little extra spending money.
